Why on earth would two American hunters end up buying a vineyard in Argentina?

Allen, Wade and their families were passionate about their sport, their food and their wine, and wanted a wine that expressed the history, beauty, art, style and excitement of hunting.

The winery is named after a magnificent stag taken in 1898 by Emperor Franz Joseph, the great-great-grandfather of Archduke Istvan von Hapsburg und Lothringen, who shares the same passion for hunting and nature that drives the creation of these wines, whose intention is to be worthy of being enjoyed as a complement of the game.

He has been active in numerous sporting and conservation organizations, including the International Order of St. Hubertus, the oldest shooting and wildlife conservation organization in the world.  Allen and his wife, Susan, live in Alexandria, Virginia and have three grown children. Everyone in the family shoots, including a grandson and granddaughter.

James Wade Logan

When my great grandfather took the glorious stag portrayed on this label, he celebrated with a magnificent banquet with fine wines. I'm confident that you will love this wine as a complement to the game you, your family and friends enjoy.

Agronomists

Lucia Baldovin & Ignacio Estevez

Two graduates of the viticulture school of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Their advice has turned the owners from enthusiastic neophytes to reasonably experienced. A romance began between them and they got married in 2018.

Thanks to the dedication and craft of our talented professionals, we can get the most valuable and rich grapes from our vineyards with the full expression of the terroir where they are cultivated. This responsibility lies in our agronomists who by their experience and expertise can materialize the main resource needed for making great wines.

Some wines just taste better with game.
Imperial Stag
is one of those wines.

Sustainability

We are a sustainable winery, where we continuously work to meet the needs of the present without compromising the possibilities of future generations. Sustainability and care for the environment are concepts that guide all our work.

We are committed to every decision we make in an effort to maintain the quality of our wines and take care of both those working with us and the earth.

Vineyards

After carefully considering different land characteristics, we selected our parcels to reveal the most authentic expression of each grape variety.

Each parcel is segmented in sub-blocks so as to precisely consider the slightest variations, adapt and improve our viticultural practices. We are therefore able to achieve the best quality of each “micro-terroir”, optimizing fruit expression and wine precision.
